Security Scans/ TradeSim Scans bug  ??   New Version Only !!

Sometimes, but not always, the 'default Securities' reload into the 'Securities' area. When scanning only the ASX200 for example, i have to check before i 'apply and run' that the default securities have not loaded.

I am not sure what may be causing it, but noticed when using Tradesim scans it was doing it alot. It is not leaving any errors but maybe some small bug ??

Just took a snapshot Peter to make it clear

Whoops. Yep, we'll have that fixed in 3.0.2, which will come out in the next couple of weeks, which fixes up a few bugs as well.
Note: When 3.0.2 comes out - the bug which causes this problem will be fixed, but you may have to remove the extra entries from any scans that 3.0.1 got to.

Small bug:

When selecting a template from the template tool bar, then one of the zoom buttons is pressed, the chart will not zoom.  If the chart is scrolled a little, then the zoom button starts to work.

The same zoom-problem occurs on my machine - only it's not that you have to scroll the chart, it's that you have to click in the chart before the zoom buttons work.

It's probably worth noting that the scroll-wheel zoom added in a recent version works regardless.

I've made a note in our issue tracker, and I'll get Peter to have a look at it.

Tim

You're right, just clicking in the chart re-enables the zoom buttons - not too much of a hassle after all.  I'm afraid I'm too lazy to use the scroll-wheel zoom, that takes too hands, and one of mine is usually under my chin holding my head up!

Note that 3.0.2 is now available from the download page, although I don't have time to list all the improvements in detail - mostly just minor bugfixes reported since 3.0.1.

The link in the download page has a typo. The subfolder /BC3.0.1/ should be changed to /BC3.0.2/.

I just read in the download section that BC 3.0.2 is "Not recommended for users with MetaStock data" (Note 3). Why is that? I've actually been using Metastock format data on BC and I haven't noticed any problems.

If you have daily MetaStock data and try do a weekly scan, you get a whole lot of 'symbol not found' errors instead of the results you're after. This causes problems for devotees of Alan Hull (for example), whose scans and indicators need to be applied to weekly data.

Tim is this a bug or a purposely added feature?

Brendon, will Vesion 3.1.1 continue to use Microsoft .Net 1.03? I seem to recall some plans to move to 1.1.

We currently use 1.0.  The next release of BC will still use 1.0 and then after that we plan to move to 2.0. We have many changes in the next version and don't want to have the extra issue of DotNet 2.0 to download and install.  A separate project.
