Subject: Installation HELP!!!!!!

I fire bullcharts up, firewall and Viruscan disabled.

it's searching for Database, then says my SQL database could not be detected.

It starts installing my SQL right until it finishes and then everything dissappears, Bullcharts just dissappears.

I fire Bullcharts up again and the cycle begins again....and again...and again.....and again...

Can someone please fix my problem ASAP?

Hi Peter,

When I went to install new version it said to uninstall the old version. Is this necessary, will I lose my other saved stuff?

cheers

Yes, you do need to uninstall the old version first. (windows installer is a mystical creature that I am yet to fully tame ).

Any charts, templates, or workspaces that you have saved won't get deleted. You will need to refer to the installation notes if you've made changes to any of the built-in scans.

Your application preferences (which get stored in the windows registry) will remain. And database will also remain (so long as your old version is at least 2.2.3).

If you have rearranged toolbars, etc then they will be reset at the upgrade (necessary as toolbar items get added and changed with new versions). For similar reasons your 'automatically remembered last used workspace' will also not load - so be sure to save it to a file before upgrading.
