Yes i,m coming to see that once the annoucements been made it,s kinda to late due to pre open trading halt. But say in take over bid as an example, will the company in period of being taken over, not continously rise untill a certain percentage of take over ownership. What,s all that about and are the percentages the same in taking possesion. CMQ good example to,trend(Recent Down)being your friend lets hope it continues if your short! Your sector pic was excellent,by the way,in stock chat! Need to see more of it.Kinda leaves you out on limb though doing such calls-but if you want the bragging rights! Kinda got a feel "MAP" might be soon on the move. Some nice compression on a MMA. Thanx Ash

Personally I truly believe that technicals, fundamentals, and news, are all the same thing. ALL things are connected and its the mind that creates the illusion of seperateness With this understanding, trade tech, and truly believe in your system. Then when news comes out, you will have been expecting it as part of your cycle analysis. Planets, and everything else, move in cycles. As above, so below. |

What if I said the following Deacan, by the time the news comes out - its too late!!!! BUT then there is a follow up move. Trading News is rarely a good thing, except when you think in terms of the opposite of what the crowd did on open. Okay, case in point. 1.CMQ recently went into a trading halt at approx 1.60 2. It then opened at 1.80 and rose straight through to 2.15 in 5minutes 3. Most people went long, Short the fcker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4. Wait for the gap to close as they always do, take profits around 1.60 5. If the news was truly good, there will be support around there, look for an opportunity to reverse your short, or go long. (this is the follow up move) You can see here, the benefit of not being part of the crowd. In this world, but not of this world. |

I,m hoping to start a section dedicated to the above heading,in trying to gauge a better understanding of movements within the share market. My knowledge is all self taught, with little experience and as such will probably not be of interest for the refined trader. But was wondering if there were any others on this level of existence who would like to share explainations of such things as,TAKE OVER BIDS,PRE OPENS(RELATED TO SUCH NEWS,HOW CAN YOU THEN MAKE A BUCK?),TRADING HALTS and say ex dividend dates, for example. So first cab off the rank is Take over bids.NFD probably good example!. Any concice to the point xplanations. Edited by Deacan_Frost |
