1 tick = 1 trade, it is just another way of interpreting intraday data, used in some other packages. I have had it mentioned to me and thought it sounded an interesting concept. difference explained below: Minutes - (Time Specific Bar Chart): This setting is for intraday charts only. Sets the number of minutes and seconds per bar/column in the chart. A bar occupies one column in the chart. Number of Ticks/Trades (Tick Chart): This setting is for intraday charts only. This sets the number of ticks per bar. A tick is a trade. Each bar will be based on the number of ticks/trades instead of a time specific period. You set the number of ticks per bar [eg. 5 ticks/bar] and also chart as candlesticks. cheers Edited by etrader |
