Several geometric technical analysis techniques involve extending trendlines or other shapes beyond the current chart data into the future. This may be to note future levels of support and resistance, or to draw cycle analysis cues, etc.

By default, BullCharts only allows you to scroll slightly beyond the end of the data. This is by design to prevent disorientation, however it does restrict the above techniques.

To extend the space that is available to the right of the chart:
  1. Click on the Format menu
  2. Select Time Axis  (note: you can also just right-click on the Time Axis itself and select properties)
  3. Select the Range tab
  4. At the bottom is an option that says "Add 5 extra bars to the right of new data"
  5. Change this number to 50 and press OK.
You can now scroll further along the chart. Increase this number until you have enough room for your analysis. Eg: Make it 260 if you need to see a whole year on a daily chart.

To make every new chart appear with this amount of space, set up one chart, then right click on it and select "Set as Default Template".
