Hi,

I think Dingo has touched on this in another thread.  It is a new feature in 3.4.1 which annoys me so much, that I no longer have a good use for the Icons.  Dingo's observation is that the Icon appears to "snap to" the wrong date.  I think the following explains it.

The Property of the Icon element was such that it in earlier BC versions it was purely an "icon" of finite width, and it could be placed so that it was "centred" on a specific date (and locked to the date).

However, in 3.4.1, the Icon element now behaves like a "Text" element, exactly the same as a Text Box.  That is, the very left hand edge of the element snaps to the date.  If you Zoom the time scale right in, then the Icon is almost on the correct date (it is actually a little to the right).  If you Zoom the time scale out a long way, then the Icon image itself is sitting on a date that can be several days further to the right.

This is not what the Icon is for.  I suspect that someone with a good idea asked for Text to be able to be added to the Icons.  However, in the programming execution, this has stuffed up the Behaviour of the Icon.

I thought the Icons were fantastic little things that could be snapped onto specific dates.  As I said at the top, I now have no use for them while they behave like this (very disappointing).  It would be good if this program modification can be reversed.

I'm just adding my support to your comments.  I too find the way icons behave now very disappointing.

Yes, exactly the problem I reported.

I am finding the lack of response to some of these issues just as disappointing.

The response to my snag was 'unable to reproduce'; please report further.  Further info provided on that thread and no further comment.

I too haven't been overly happy with customer feedback.  Its a shame with such a great product.

I don't think that Bullcharts monitor this forum anymore so if anyone else is still fed up with the way icons behave now can I suggest you email Brendon at info@bullsystems.com.au and bring it to his attention.

We will fix this in the next major release.  Currently working on a version using dotnet 2.0 and will add that fix with other things as well.

Sorry haven't time to participate in the forum.  Shall check in every now and then.  Best to report bugs etc to info@bullsystems.com as we monitor email as the normal course of business. Treat the forum as a discussion forum
