Update:

This feature is now included (in v3.8+ - 3.8.2 and 3.8.4 etc.)

It includes some additional toolbar buttons to assist with this.  Also, after dragging the price/value axis, you can easily "reset" it by right-clik on the axis and choose"Reset Scal to Default".

Cheers

Hi,
I just posted the following text in another discussion thread (re: semi-logs).

It might be more useful here:
I am testing v3.8, with some new neat features - one of which is a variable price scale.
In the past it has been sometimes annoying when you want to see a bit further up on the price scale, or further down - eg. Elliott Wave extensions, or Fibonacci retracements, etc.

And v3.8 (not quite available yet, so don't go asking for it just now) has some neat features. You can "grab" the price scale towards the bottom half, and drag it up to produce more space under the chart (and converse for above - grab the scale in the upper half).
And there are some toolbar buttons to help with this activity, and  a "Reset scale to default" option on the right-click drop down menu, and you can easily customise the toolbar buttons - take some off and put some on.

This will give you moire flexibility.  (The BC staff have been contemplating this one for a while, and have now roked out how to do it)

Hi Jake,

Just right click on the price axis and select "Price Axis Properties", then select  "Lock scale ratio at" enter a higher number for "points [or dollars] per tick" and Bobs your uncle.

Hello fellow Bullchart users,

I am a recent convert to Bullcharts after using Metastock.

When applying price extensions to a recent high on a price chart more often than not the 100% or 150% mark is not displayed on the screen. The only way I can see the extensions is by clicking the 'Auto Scale Value Axis' button and dragging the chart down, but then most or all of price action is off the screen.

Is there any way of viewing all recent price action and all price extensions with the price chart compressing?

Thanks,

Ephraim
